Tiffani Higgins looks like a reformed party girl. Like she used to be the life of the bonfire but now spends her weekends filming her kids’ soccer games.
Like she could effortlessly switch between sipping mimosas at brunch with the girls and dominating the dartboard at the local dive bar with the guys.
Like she’d roll up to the county jail at 2 a.m. after your second DUI, greeting you with a big hug and a steaming cup of coffee.
Those are my first impressions, anyway.
Read this Stay-At-Home Bookkeeper Academy review to see if I nailed it or totally missed the mark.
So, what’s Tiffani’s actual story?
She’s a CPA and mom of five who ran a thriving virtual bookkeeping business for four years.
Then, she pivoted to launch Stay-At-Home Bookkeeper Academy, where she now teaches other busy moms how to follow in her footsteps, build their dream lifestyle, and – yes, queen – have their cake and eat it too.
She says, by starting a bookkeeping business:
- You can make $5,000 per month
- Working only 10 hours per week
- Within just a few short months
- And eventually scale to $20,000+ per month
- Even if you work full time, have kids at home, and you’ve never done bookkeeping before
An average client will pay you $500 a month for years.
So, if you’re aiming for $5k a month, it’s simple math: you need 10 clients.
But what’s nice is, once you hit your income goal, you can rely on that steady cash flow without scrambling for new clients every month.
Now you’ve got more time to study the Bible – or wipe down the floggers and paddles in your sex den, depending on how you get down.
This other chick, DeAnna Rogers, with her southern drawl, chimes in to reassure everyone that getting 10 clients is easy. Think about how many freelancers and small business owners you know. They all need their books done, right?
After all, death and taxes are the only certainties in life – and you can’t file your taxes without getting your bookkeeping done first, can you?
I says gah damn.
These girls handle objections like they’re trying to shoo a raccoon off the porch.
How much work is it?
Maybe one hour a week for each client, Tiffani estimates. Which means, even at $10k a month, you’re only working 20 hours a week.
That’s because QuickBooks Online now uses AI to streamline most of the manual bookkeeping tasks.
What you’ll learn inside the Stay-At-Home Bookkeeper Academy:
- Proper quoting
- Efficient workflow
- Build with the end in mind
- Train family members to help you out
- Explore back-work and clean-up opportunities
- Hire employees (optional) when the time is right
- Sell your business to fund your retirement if you so choose
- And obviously, marketing, sales, onboarding, and fulfillment
All of that’s allowed students like Jennifer to clear $32,000 in clean-up work, plus $2,197 monthly from a single client. She’s now at about $4,000 per month in her fourth month.
Kaboiiing!
Then there’s Alicia, who earned $6,000 cleaning up a client’s books and now makes $1,500 a month for ongoing service.
Kaboom!
And don’t forget Kim: $9,000 to clean someone’s books and $2,197 monthly after that – totaling $11,197, cash collected, in just her second month.
Ka-ching!
But, if I were you, I’d be asking how they’re getting these clients.
The answer’s not sexy: social media, online and offline networking groups, and cold email.
That said, here’s what the streets are saying.
According to a complaint on the BBB, Stay-At-Home Bookkeeping Academy can cost as much as $12,000. The reviewer claimed the program promised support but delivered little more than upsells, endless Zoom calls, and a Facebook Group.
Most of the other reviews were positive, and they’ve still got an A+ rating overall.
There’s some trash talk from a former employee on Glassdoor, but nothing major on Reddit – which is always a win.
Here’s where I stand:
I just don’t see myself as a bookkeeper. I’m the type who pulls the mac and cheese box outta the trash 13 times to check the directions.
