Martine Lacroix reminds me of my fun aunt. My funt, as I call her. Though she’s probably not an alcoholic like funtie Patty.
Seriously though.
Last Easter I tried to go drink for drink with her and she had me tilted like a tombstone in an overgrown graveyard.
Anyways. Enough about my trashy family.
Let’s gossip about Short-Term Rentals Coach Martine Lacroix.
She made $267,000 her first year on Airbnb, and $5 million since, despite NYC suing her for running “an illegal hotel scheme.”
Read on for my Martine Lacroix review.
Picture this, painted by the soft-spoken guy with the afro:
- You make your own money.
- You’re your own boss.
- You can take care of your family.
- And travel and shop and eat out whenever you want.
You’ve got a happy little life paid for by Airbnb rentals that you don’t even own.
Beats working your buns off just to barely scrape by on your daily crust, doesn’t it?
Yeah, well, Martine and her mentees live this dream every day, thanks to Airbnb arbitrage.
Funny enough, Martine originally planned on becoming a lawyer. She even earned a Legal Studies degree from St. John’s University in Queens.
But ADHD had other plans.
She ended up getting fired from nearly every law firm in New York City where she worked as a paralegal.
HR: “You’ve slurped your last soup, bucko. Pack your shit.”
Martine: “It’s fine. I’ll see myself out.”
Thankfully, just before her last firing, she had listed her own home in Hell’s Kitchen (Midtown Manhattan) on Airbnb.
It was doing pretty good so she emptied her 401(k) – which was less than $20,000 – to secure and lease two studios on the Upper East Side.
Those three properties brought in over a quarter-million dollars in short-term rental income in their first full year.
Lawyer, shmoyer, right?
So she thought. But then 2020 happened and all her reservations were canceled. And by 2022, The Big Apple banned Airbnbs.
How’d she respond? Did she cry into a 20-piece nuggies, down a bottle of wine, and wake up job hunting?
Not a chance.
She took her Airbnb know-how and simply went into other markets.
Markets like St. Louis, Houston, even her first international listing in Dubai.
Because of her STR savvy and adaptability, Martine’s a multimillionaire.
Now she’s helping others walk the trail she’s blazed.
For example:
- One student didn’t even have an Airbnb account when she joined Martine’s program. Today, she’s got six Airbnb properties pulling in money.
- This other chick bought someone else’s mentoring, didn’t make a dime, came to Martine – now she collects $13,000 a month from a single property.
- Another dude’s got a four-bedroom in Houston that he projects will make over $110,000 this year.
Martine explains how the biggest mistake people make is they act like Airbnb, itself, is the industry. It’s not. It’s a subset of the hospitality industry.
Which is why Martine actually went back to school and got her graduate degree in Hospitality.
This gives her a better feel for stuff like:
- Seasonality
- Dynamic pricing
- Property analysis
- Distribution channel management
- How to delight guests and earn 5-star reviews
- And more
She basically creates mini-mes who can replicate her success in Airbnb-friendly cities.
Diving headfirst into Airbnb’s been the best decision of her life.
She hasn’t punched a clock since 2010, she’s visited over 40 countries, and yeah, it’s been one hell of a glow-up.
She offers a range of services to help you build your Airbnb empire, including her Booked & Busy Bootcamp, priced at $1,997.
Martine gets a yes from me, but Airbnb? That’s a no.
I have to summon someone just to make me a sammy. I’m not built for all that.
